BioNavigator is mostly self-explanatory (at least I think so, but then I created it) but here are a few guidelines for its use.
The first card is divided into four areas. Clicking on any of these areas will take you to a corresponding card with that heading.
Each of the topic cards has two rows of buttons. To rename the button and thus link it with a stack or application, simply:
1) Hold down the Option key while selecting the button;
2) Follow the instructions provided by the dialog box.
To rename a button at any time, simply hold down the Option key again while selecting it.
These are self-naming buttons taken from the HyperCard ReadyMade Buttons stack, which I modified slightly for inclusion here. (My own version of BioNavigator is much more complex, with fields and buttons, noises and gewgaws, but this was easier to do for a publicly-released version.)
On the cards you will also find buttons. They work as follows:
The Balloon button announces the creator of the BioNavigator stack.
The Man Squeezing the Card button compacts the stack.
The Stack button displays the dialog box to open another HyperCard stack.
The Home button takes you to the Home Stack.
The Skull button takes you to the first card of the BioNavigator stack. [Copy and paste it
into all your stacks linked by BioNavigator so that you can alwasy return here.]
The Mac button quits HyperCard and takes you back to the desktop.
The Hand Pulling the New Cards out creates a new card. It will copy exactly the present
card, so you will have to rename the buttons. (Yes, it's a drag, but I went for simple.)
The field can display information, but it does not work in this release.
